Beautifully Unhinged Project - Hard Light & Soft Light

Hard Light - Dark and more crisp shadows

Soft Light - softer and less darker shadows

For this, I had to take photographs of portraits with hard and soft light. We set up the backdrop and used the softbox to help achieve the photos. We diffused the light to make the soft light effect.

Beautifully Unhinged Project - Typography

Non-Format designs CDs, book covers, posters. These images all have things in common like visual typography, reduced colours like red, black and grey and no more than 3 or 4 colours usually, and also manipulated images. The images look like they have been done in Illustrator as they have clean, vectorised lines. The text is sans-serif as it's blocky and has effects like explosions, shattered glass, patterns etc. Each image gives off a minimalist feel.

Beautifully Unhinged Project - Proposal & Timeline

The project is about designing a cover for a book called ’Beautifully Unhinged’. During this project, I’ll research artists and look at other Penguin book covers for inspiration. Themes include arachnophobia, mental illness, lesbians, spiritualism etc. The various techniques I’ll use will be typography and photography and I might do collage.

James Bond Title Sequence - From Last Year

The first pic of the villain was my favourite because of the use of blood and fire in the background, makes the villain look scary once again. Other favourites include Bond fighting the villain and the Bond girl.
